Parenting is a high calling!

Parenting is unpredictable

Parenting is a grand adventure

Parenting takes courage

Courage is defined as the ability to do something that frightens one.  It requires bravery.  When I first became a mom, I didn’t have a clue.  My eldest son is now 16 years old and sometimes I still feel like I don’t have a clue.  But, I trust in love.  I trust that as my children grow up feeling and knowing that they are loved that all with be ok.  Love covers a multitude of sins.  Love is beautiful and it takes courage too.

You have been entrusted to shape a life; to leave a legacy.  Your children will not wait for your careers or hobbies to finish before they grow up.  I’ve head it said that it’s easier for a mother or father to have children than for children to have a mother or father.  Being a mom or dad stretches us but it’s so worth it.

Take a moment and think about where you need courage in your parenting.  Do you need to relax a little, or put some boundaries in place?  Do you need to be consistent in following through with your words or do you need to say more?

It takes courage to parent with a biblical worldview and it takes courage to parent well.  As you read this blog, may you be reminded that with God all things are possible.  He will never leave you nor forsake you. Rely on the Holy Spirit’s leading and wisdom as you raise your children and leave a legacy.
